CJ to the rescue

It's funny how much being referenced can mean to me.

CJ's story had me remembering that these days what used to be called “user exits” are called “callbacks”.

And, well, yes, methinks the twain notions intermingle.

The presence of callbacks is, amongst other things, an acknowledgement of others, that others might be able to spin a software outcome in ways one couldn't imagine in a million beers.

Linking to another's post seems similar to me, representing acknowledging another has said something so well it's better to linkcorporate it than rewrite it in some lesser way.
