Blast that slamming!

Nothing turns me away from reading an article more quickly and resolutely than an accompanying title saying someone “blasts” or “slams” someone, as it seems the vast majority of the time all that happened was someone enunciated disagreement/disapproval in a relatively civil way.

Said another way, I've a heck of a time trusting the journalism of someone that doesn't know the difference between 'disagrees' and 'blasts/slams'.

I'm also leery when a title is telling me someone “doubled down” on a position.

I'm just so incredibly tired of the too often reckless – if not vile – hyperbole of it all.
